So this week is FUCKIN CRAZY!!! Last night was my 21st birthday, hence the previous post! Lately Hunter S. Thompson is really inspiring me! But anyway so last night Pseudo Slang, Modill, and Slo Kid&Toby Beatbox did a show at the Nestor. Dope fucken music! I had not heard of Pseudo Slang or Modill before this show so it was a pleasant surprise when they graced the mic. Modill’s old school style was nice to hear, he almost reminded me of early 90’s hip hop meets modern Del the Funky Homosapien but in his own unique and style. Lyrically and flow-wise he was flawless and he even brought some humor between songs. I liked the way he was promoting to the people that where there by offering some free tracks via an email mailing list. He browsed the light crowd with a clipboard and a pen to get email addresses and chat with everyone. As his last track ended Pseudo Slang transitioned in and killed it. Sick had great energy had a message, and he made his messages known! Pseudo Slang really is hip hop for the thinking man. Afterward two of my favorite local performers Slo Kid and Toby Beatbox got up on the stage and beat the fuckin box! These guys have been beatboxing for some time now but only have been doing shows together for less than a year. Every time I have the pleasure of seeing these two perform together not only do I see improvements, but am just in awe at the level of skill they both have and how well they work together and off of each other. You can see the intensity and the focus in their eyes, and when their eyes meet you see how in tune with each other their performance is. Their beats come alive as this focus and connection allows perfect mashing of their two styles and two sections of the beat. And of course the harmonica…oh that fucking harmonica!!! If I could rap I would love to do an entire cd over their harmonica beatboxing! Impressive every time! The guys of Pseudo Slang and Modill needed a place to crash after it was all said and done, so of course I showed them some northern hospitality and offered my apartment, it’s not much but I’m sure it’s better than sleeping in a car in 0 degree weather. I’m always glad to support underground hip hop, if they are willing to drive 6 hours to play in Fargo ND then I’m definitely going to support their show. Overall great music, great night! Then tonight on my radio show PM TO AM HIP HOP BPM’S on KNDS 96.3fm or kndsradio.com at 11pm to midnite I have my homie Kipp Gabriel and Rhymesayers very own Toki Wright! Toki is on tour and coming through on a stop in Fargo on Friday so I asked if he would like to do my show to help promote. So definitely tune in and check out the show tomorow night at the Aquarium downtown at 9pm-ish. Then Saturday night Trick! An electronic dance party also at the Aquarium with all female DJs including KNDS’s Trish and Dish from omg:su! and Kittybump from Minneapolis. This is not only an electronic dance party…but also a lingerie party!! Double win!! Peace

As I roll out of bed I wipe the scum of last night from my face. Still having the greasy gel in my hair from work yesterday. Wearing a new cologne I’ve not been able to wear until now, it’s called ‘you smell like a fucking bar’. Those shady bars and late nights are worth the enjoyment derived from the local talents though. I pull a fresh shirt over my head and leave the three drifting musicians to rest up for the next leg of their journey. Slowly stumbling down the stairs, still half asleep, I question my own competency to drive fueled on a few hours of sleep and the calories of the dark beer I had drank the night before. On my drive I recall all drinking I’ve put behind me, and am glad that there is no novelty left in the idea of ‘finally being 21’. I don’t have the availability of money to waste on overpriced beverages that do nothing but cloudy my mind. I need to think and see clearly these days. So I do not fear that I will join that exclusive club of people, the unachieving alcoholic college fuck ups! Peac

UGGH..so this whole house hunting is starting to get stressful, we got lucky in the sense that we found the perfect house for us and what we want to do…but on the other hand we cant afford it to just the three of us, our one homie decided to back out again, and the other guy that was gonna move in is having trouble convincing his girlfriend now…i just really really need this house. On a different note :) i love my best friend in the whole world!!! and she knows who she is <3 that’s all ill get into that for now lol…had a super dope life talk with a friend/coworker till like 4am the other night, i always thoroughly enjoy those!! otherwise its  just been the same old shit lately. peace

I reeeaaallllyyyy miss this girl!!! and i hope she knows how much i miss her and how bad i wanna see her. hhhm otherwise today was a good day :) paul ide and slo kid(adam) stopped by the show and we hung out. i got alot of writing done today, i wrote a 1500 word short story and a few acapella's, im really in the creative mood lately. there's this ndsu literary journal they publish annually so i really wanna submit as much as i can get done in the next few weeks! also this saturday is a dope hip hop show so ima try to get to it if i get off work soon enuf to slide in. slo kid's got quite the surprise for the crowd being it's valentines day and all...ill post pictures lol..anyway gotta sleep ,work in the morn, peace

I realize i haven’t written on here in quite some time, so ill try to catch you up. The whole lack of internet at my apt is starting to be troublesome. I almost got a 0 on an exam for my online class becuz i couldnt get a good stolen connection at the time, luckily i was allowed to retake it and got a B!!! Um so lets start off, as usual im still stressin bout turnin 21 soon, i just wonder if im gonna feel this way forever. Also kinda sorta lost a good friend over stupid drama…oh well, but made an even better friend and am gettin super close to someone else i’ve had some feelings for on and off for a lil while now. So not gonna get my hopes up but will keep my fingers crossed. She’s kinda been that one right in front of my eyes that i’ve always known was special to me, but it took this long to notice i guess you could say..?  Anyway what else, um school’s finally going good for once in my life, getting B’s right now!!! not quite the 4.0 im shooting for but i’ll take it over last semesters C’s and D’s…oh and im helping promote for the first fundraiser for ‘Hip Hop Don’t Stop 2010’, it’s gonna be an epic event this summer, with some amazing artists coming in for the graffiti wall!!! So pumped, also i copped Dessa’s new album and its been on repeat for the last 2 or so weeks! It wasn’t one of those albums that you instantly realize ‘damn this is good’ but more so after about 2 listens i really started to appreciate ‘damn this girl has got true talent’. So im super stoked over that. And i believe the same day i got that cd it was, i did an acapella on my show, and this girl called in, and her mind was so epically intriguing, this girl was def dope as hell, we had the most interesting 15min convo ive had in a loooong time…just wish i woulda got some contact info or found out who she was so we could’ve continued the convo at a later date….so mysterious girl who called into the show 2 weeks ago itd be nice to chat about the intricacies of life again if you wanted to.. Also we found a house last week, 9 bdrms, 3 bath, 3 kitchen, with a full basement. Me and jeremy instantly started making plans for it so now we have all become super emotionally invested in getting this particular house! If it comes to happen it will be me, both my brothers, dylan vall and his girlfirend dani, and darin striker!!! It would be the best 2 or so years of our lives guaranteed if it comes to pass. We want to put a studio, weight room, party basement, etc. And the best part is that we all have very similar motivations and interests such as music, so we can all keep each other motivated along with having the fun and freedom of enough space to do practically whatever we please. I’ll try to update again soon, but ima try to take a short nap before my next class so i have energy to workout after classes. Peace
